My name is Jacob Namynanik. I played football at liberty during the 2000 season Karchers first year. I was recruited by Rutigliano's staff. The reason I am no longer at liberty is because of Karcher. While I was there he never once approached me on a personal level to see how I was. He would often times ignore me in the halls while I was going to class. I know it was his first year and I heard he improved is communication skills with the players. ( speak to Dave Williams now and again) But as a strong christian my self I could not respect him as a man while I was there. He never practiced what he was preaching. He certainly wasn't helping me know who I was in Christ. He never would tell anyone good job I never felt good enough he was never approachable or acted like he genuinely cared about me. I did not need a best friend as a coach just someone who respected that I was busting my tail for them. I was not recruited by him so he thought I was trash. Ok sorry but I have not spoken to anyone about this because he was still affiliated with the program and I respect LU to much to do so.
Ok now for my opinion of what LU needs as a coach. Liberty needs a coach that has been a consistent winner as a coach in 1a or higher. They need to practice what they preach and show christ love in there daily walk. Dave Williams for example would be a perfect candidate to show how a coach should behave toward his players. There needs to be a coach who can win on the field and develop the lives of his players. To be a team that plays for each other must be taught that from the top that coach must show the kids how to care for one another. The coach must show his love for the game and the players. That is how you will win on the field. I am an FSU fan both parents went there. Bobby Bowden built his dynasty by showing christ love for people and being passionate about football. What better place to find a coach like him than at Liberty Universtity.
