I've been registered with Rivals for close to a deacde now back to their old Alliance days (Bobby Burton's a friend of mine). I'll be posting under another screen name. But you won't have any trouble telling who I am.

Actually, there was just a big defection from the boneyard and it took most of the good knowledgeable posters with it. Most now are over at scout, which is uconnfan.com

Thanks. I saw that. Looking forward to talking with some of the guys over there. How do you think Coach Edsall will explain losing to LU? FYI - my next door neighbor went to a charity event here in harrisburg a few months ago and sat next to Coach Edsall. he was highly impressed.

Scout.com is the old Insiders.com. Its the primary rival to, well, Rivals. By the way, I'll go ahead and toot my own horn. Check out the post count.

For those of you that aren't ESPN Insider subscribers, its an exhaustive rundown of UConn's squad.
In a nutshell, they're are stacked at most positions. They are inexperienced at QB, OL & WR so they will probably rely on run game early on.
Defensively they have most everybody back. They have some inexperience in the secondary and lost their bigtime LB Fincher. But they should be stout.
We have our work cut out for us.

I read that too. The fact that we gave up 30 sacks last year with an experienced offensive line is scary considering UConn will throw everything but the kitchen sink at our O. I fear moving the ball at all is going to be tough given the inexperience up front and the lack of a proven RB.
Another scary fact about our D - we only had 9 sacks the entire 2004 season. Where's the pressure?

Yeah, I seem to remember someone (probably me) intelligently pointing out that coaching is going to be our weakest link when trying to move this program forward. I think the line coaches and assistants are where we're going to see our problems. You do what you can do with the kids you get, but good coaches will get the most out of them, bad coaches will get 9 sacks.

Medic - I forget if it's you or Sly that is the big Coach Karcher fan. I will probably prove to be in the minority this year but I do like Karcher. Our staff is very experienced as well. we just need to keep getting better players and I think folks will find that our coaches will actually coach better - what's the old saying "it's Jimmy's and Joe's not X's and O's". If you have the horses you look like a great coach because there are only so many ways you can line up 11 guys on offense and defense.
Phillies needed to take at least 2 of 3 from the Dodgers at home.

out of curiosity, what is the average age of our line coaches? (age= potential coaching experience)
on second thought: moving this to another thread as we are WAY off topic
