The guy I'm facing in my fantasy league this week picked up Sam Friday night as a last minute fill-in. I'm conflicted.

and I don't feel so bad- they showed footage of Sam's 3 (THREE) TD's and then posted a graphic showing the same stats I found, only giving him 2. Who knows? computer gliches I guess.

2 rushing, 1 receiving touchdown..that probably explains the confusion.

I guess until he gets interviewed or something, his name is gonna be Samkon. Heck I didn't even know that was his name until he went to the cheifs.

When was the last time a Liberty alum ruined anyone's fantasy week?

Carswell and McKnight have had their days in recent years.

Watched the game and again he got a lot of airtime. They showed some friends of his several times and they had the "In Gado We Trust". They also mentioned that he will probably be a back up for Green Bay next year.

It's pronounced "Gah-doe" Who knew that the most effective running back for the Packers this year wouldn't be Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport or Tony Fisher? Instead, a former taxi-squad member named Samkon Gado has taken the Packers' running game and made it his own, hitting the holes hard and developing a nose for the end zone. Against a rapidly declining Atlanta defense, Gado rushed 25 times for a solid 103 yards with two rushing touchdowns and a third on a shovel pass. Gado's running was always strong but never long, and he helped the Pack get out to a 14-0 lead early that would help them win their second game of the year. Gado gave the Packers their first 100-yard rushing game of the year (seriously!), and has become a Fantasy super hero for the all-important playoff run.

HOW AMAZING IS SAM?? I almost peed myself when I was watching the game. (not really, but I was pumped) I was hoping they'd interview him after the game but instead they interviewed Favre...like he's a big deal...pshhh Maybe if he scores 4 TD's they'll realize that he's not just lucky-he's ridiculously good. Anddd did Sam look huge to anyone else today? I thought he looked bigger today than last WEEK. This guy is working his butt off!

As I was reading the thread earlier someone was talking about him going by Sam, but according to thingy Stockton in the broadcast he said that he wants to go by Samkon, so that is why you heard the Samkon instead of just Sam. I am hoping to grab a interview with him on Tuesday or sometime this week to give you guys and update. Tried his Cell last Tuesday which is his off day and left a message but he didn't return it, I know he has got to be swomped.

Fox Sports Radio just mentioned Sam on the Steve Szaban show this morning - something like "Sam Gado from 1-AA Liberty College" - I had to e-mail them to correct them. At least the co-host said "yeah, he's a Flame".

I can't stand this Liberty College crap. It just sounds so bush league or something. I think people say it because when ever we're mentioned in a players stats it just says "Liberty" and I don't think people know what to make of that. So naturally they stick a college on the end. It's a pretty big pet peeve of mine.

Without a doubt, and not to sound like a conspiracy-wonk, more often than not it's done intentionally as a put-down. Little Liberty college, etc. After last years Sweet 16 and all Jerry's exposure, as well as the men making the NCAAs a couple years ago (?) no self-respecting reporter is COMPLETELY unaware of LU. It's just not hip to admit it, you have to feign ignorance or be accused of supporting us- can't have THAT now.

I disagree. Liberty is not exactly a football factory for the NFL. When it comes to womens basketball, who on this board would pay any attention if Liberty's women were a consistent last place finisher in the Big South? Liberty is recognized nationally in certain circles, but not in professional sports. We need a few more Sam Gado's before we should expect someone not to make that mistake.

You really can't compare any other school to LU, in that- even if you don't follow sports- you probably have heard of Jerry Falwell.
I've also never hear of BYU referred to as "Brigham Young College", or even ORU as "Oral Roberts College"
There is a bias. An easy, underhanded slam is to act like you've never heard of someone- it denies them credibility or legitimacy. Like this: Winethrope who? or is that Wynnthrop College? Winfrup Community College, what?
see what I mean?
*WU FANS- I'm KIDDING*
