This year our conference seems to be winning most of the games that we need to win:
UNCA (3-0)-defeated Jacksonville, Campbell and Gardner-Webb (I pick this team to finish 2nd in the conference, btw). CCU (1-0)-defeated Campbell CSU (1-1)-defeated Wofford, with an unfortunate lost to College of Charleston High Point (1-1)-defeated Mars Hill, killed by South Carolina Radford (1-1)-lost to Cal, defeated UC Davis Birmingham Southern (0-1)-unfortunate loss in close battle against Samford, hopefully they'll shake it off Winthrop (0-2)-a young team with a coach trying to build a program, some rough spots are expected
and for our LADY FLAMES: 1-1 Defeated Division II Virginia Union, and cashed the check from UNC.
As long as most of the conference (including us) can keep winning against schools from the other low-and-mid major conferences, and as long as we score an upset or two against one of the major teams we play, and as long as we win the conference tournament, I can see us getting a more respectable seed in the NCAA tourney...maybe 11th or 10th, which will increase our chances of going to the 2nd round.

As usual, if we do our job the rest of the league won;t matter much. But if these other schools can show some promise it will help our RPI.

Well, the other schools are showing promise...the conference is currently ranked 14th in RPI according to the latest weekly report on the Big South site...IF the UNTHINKABLE happens and we somehow manage to lose in the conference tourney, hopefully that'll help our case for an at-large bid, or at least a bid to the WNIT.

Probably the reason the Big South conference is ranked 15 is because they are winning against scrub teams. All I have to say is outside of LU, look at the schedule the rest of the conference is playing. The rest of the league is not playing the tough schedule that we are playing. Should have had two ACC wins. (NCST, VA Tech). This team I think has started to learn from those tough losses. I am not worried about the rest of the league at all.

Looks like the competition could improve withing the conference. Winthrop only lost by 1 to Clemson and killed Norfolk State. UNCA and Radford could also give us trouble. Hopefully by conference time the team will cut down on those turnovers.

Clemson is going to be a bottom feeder in the ACC conference. But if Winthrop hit some freethrows that would have been a big win for them. Radford could have beaten VA tech. I think Tech will finish in 6th place in the ACC. I am not really impressed with them. UNCA is playing cupcakes in my opinion with the exception of UNC who could vy for a final four spot. So in my opinion if we take care of the ball and not play down to the level of the Big South, then I am not concerned with any team in this league. As for High Point, they are playing cupcakes and barely beating them. They play VA Tech in January so that will be interesting. VA Tech will beat them I think by about 25-30 points. South Carolina blew out High Point by 36 points. LU should have beaten VA Tech and NCST and NCST will be in the top 4 in the ACC I think. But I think this team has learned from these big games and I believe they will be ready for the Big South in January.
