Who's going, thinking of going, or thinking of begging their wife/fiancee for permission to go?
Also, doing the whole deal from Friday on or just the game/festivities on Saturday?
I actually MAY be heading south for the 1st time in 15 years- we'll see. Gotta get a sitter, etc (the usual)

I am glad you'll be making the trip down. I was going to the game but they moved the kickoff on me. My wife and I had sitter coverage planned, brother's wedding and reception all planned - and we could still make it to the game. All of that was flushed right down the toilet because of TV.
Not that I'm bitter or anything :>)

think I'll go incognito though, they're not ready for my true identity down there- HA
and I guess I'll try to behave as well- can they toss you out when you're just visiting?

Yes-you should definitely head to the burg...you'll get to meet ME! (Yes Sly-I'm worth the exclamation point) and PAmedic, you definitely need to find me when you're down here (same goes for anyone on this board who isn't normally in the Burg). HBurg, hope you can make it down for some BBall games if you can't catch any gridiron action.

Any of you guys that are in town for homecoming should swing over to the band section and introduce yourselves to me. I will be wearing a grey t-shirt that says "Made in America" on the back

I really want to go but don't have the $$$ this year so hope to in a few years from now. My daughter is thinking Liberty would be fun to attend so maybe as a preview for her.

know the feeling- hey, since commuting is probably a bit much- maybe you can board her at the newly renamed LCA and then she can go to LU for FREE!
wonder if they'd take a strong willed 6 yr old and a 12 yr old as a package deal.
(nice to see ya back CHEER)

It normally is. Something about "if you screw up = people die" that provides the needed motivation each and every shift.

I knew a couple guys from Jersey back in the day- we usually brawled over the normal: GIANTS SUCK/EAGLES SUCK thing.
A dude I knew in the marching band, Dan something- was from over there somewhere. Jersey aint that big- everybodys' close. Can't put a face on this Rowdy Joe cat, though the nickname DEFINITELY rings a bell.

Joe used to do pro wrestling moves around campus. He's from Atco, NJ. When we were in school he used to drive a customized van around school with a big NJ Devils logo on the back. He was there '85-'90. I'll bet Scar has to remember him. It was a much smaller school back then in comparison to now and he was one of the most colorful characters on campus (and he hasn't changed a bit).

Sly you still talk to Joe? I remember him. He was a funny dude. Really short. tell him hello for me. ATrain, I will see you in the press box. As you know I have been trying to meet you for weeks but I never get over to the bookstore when I am in Lynchburg. I will be with givemethemic and bigsmooth and Medic I am sure....But I have to get down on the field some too. Looking forward to seeing you guys.

He was a funny dude. Really short. hmmmm. maybe a trend here. then again, to SCAR, everyone under 6' is really short. I remember that van though, SLY. HATE those Jersey Devils. Even the legend is stupid. (Pine Barrens, Jersey Devil....forget about it.)

Wish I could be there for this informal Firehouse gathering. At some point it'd be cool to get some t-shirts or banners directing fans at the game to our site. In the meantime, word of mouth is doing just fine.
And you are dead on, Scar. I talk and correspond with Rowdy Joe on a regular basis.I've even visitied with him on his semi-regular jaunts down here to the Lone Star State. He's a one-of-a-kind guy.
