Yes that is true...Only 2 more weeks and then its "playoff time" as the BCS is about to only just squeak by yet again thanks to a few fortuitously timed upsets

Well, things just got a lot more interesting folks: I was talking to ATrain today and we were going back and forth on which teams are deserving and we decided to expand the field to 32 teams: (which would add one additional week to the playoff yes but heck I figure it can be worked around. Here are the 32 teams as of right now:
#1: USC #2: Texas #3:Penn State #4: Notre Dame #5:LSU #6:Virginia Tech #7: Georgia #8: Miami (FL) #9: West Virginia #10:TCU #11: Oregon #12: Iowa #13:Fresno State #14: Boston College #15: Northern Illinois #16:South Florida #17: Michigan #18: Pittsburgh #19: Colorado State # 20: Iowa State #21: Florida State #22: UCLA #23: Alabama #24: Cal #25: Colorado #26: Wisconsin #27: Central Florida #28: Texas Tech #29: Auburn #30: Tulsa #31: Ohio State #32: Lousiana-Monroe

I'm baffled. South Florida is good enough for two seeds ... one as high as 16? Northern Illinois 15th?

Northern Illinois= MAC champion and I like the job they have done this year. If they lose the MAC title game chances are they are not getting seeded, and may not make the playoff at all

Jumping on this thread b/c it seems to fit what I'm asking. Someone help me here....
If a player transfers down from 1A to 1AA, do they sit the same 1 year as if they transferred from 1A to another 1A?

Nope--they can transfer "down" and play right away.

Okay, that was my gut... So it's possible that we may see some immediate changes. If Sam Gado gives us a wave, this may be one of the ways coach Rocco can surf it. A player could look outstanding at Liberty but he currently may be behind a good 1A player at his current school. We may find a few Jr/Sr's that would take the leap for 1 or 2 years for a chance to be a bigger fish.

I fully anticipate us receiving a number of IA transfers over Christmas break. In fact, I ould b surprised if we didn't. And as has been alluded to on other threads, anybody stranded at the bottom of the UVa depth charts will certainly have an interest in talking to Coach Rocco.
Just the publicity alone of the search the past few weeks will generate some interest in transfers.

Alright folks, here are the 32 teams in the "Run to the Heisman Bowl" (although if you have a better and still serious name Id love to hear it). The top 16 teams will host a first round game, with the top 8 hosting each pod of 4 teams. the 11 conference champions all automatically get a seed along with 5 of the 21 (yes 21) at large teams:
#1: USC #2: Texas #3:Penn State #4: Notre Dame #5:Georgia #6: Florida State #7: Auburn #8: LSU #9: West Virginia #10:Miami (FL) #11: Oregon #12: Boise State #13:Akron #14: Arkansas State #15: Tulsa #16:TCU
Michigan Rutgers Kansas Iowa State UCLA Iowa Alabama Virginia Tech Wisconsin Central Florida Texas Tech Ohio State Fresno State Northern Illinois Cal Louisville
I will post the bracket this week

Pitt? Pitt!?!
I debated why I would even respond because the idea of 32 teams is banjo on a bridge crazy... I would love a playoff as much as anyone... but 32 teams?
Anyway... how in the world would Pitt get a bid... even if there were 64 teams? They are 5-6... and a bad 5-6 at that.

yeah it would...which is why I am trying to give them somewhat comparable matchups fromthe unseeded teams when I make out the bracket. we could have some interesting potential rematches too

Well... you've outdone yourself this time. Man, you need to transfer to MIT or a good government school. You sound like you would be a great Nuclear Physicist but unfortunately there is no common sense in this complex and overwhelming plan that could never fly in the NCAA.
Transfer to MIT... or better yet, work for the government. This type of thing would fit in perfectly in one of our government bureaucracies. Don't waste your gift!

Don't waste your gift! hehe...thanks for the laugh...but I wouldn't go a day at MIT (Massachusetts is full of liberal homosexual apologists in large part anyway) and many government schools are druken party zones. As a Christian I would not do well in that environment physically OR spiritually And BTW, to accomodate this system, we nuke 14 bowls (including a few of the $1M+ payout bowls) and take teh money and put it in a big playoff fund. Second, to accomodate the time constraint, the schedule is reduced to 11 games and we cut one bye week from the regular season schedule and start one week earlier.
