I really wish I could see this. This is the first game I've heard via radio but gotta say I'm a little less than impressed w/ the call by Edwards (?) Its a bit disjointed, and he tends to overlook things like, although we "swarmed to the ball" or "made a great hit", the opposing RB GAINED 10 yards on us. Maybe the RVL team is a little rusty too?

Did I miss anything?

here's a thought. after the call "here's the throw" try either "COMPLETE" or "INCOMPLETE". I sit and listen to 30 seconds of drivel but no call as to whether we CAUGHT IT OR NOT.
sorry- anger management issues tonight as a result of my allergy meds.

I may be wrong, but Jerry Edwards has been the only football & basketball radio voice of the Flames since the programs' inception. He's not exactly on his game tonight. But its a season opener for him as well.
For the record, Jerry gave me a 'C' in sportscasting class back in the day.

Forget the clock ... let'd ram this one down to the endzone. We need to build some confidence for the next three intimidating contests.

Since Karcher has arrived, the former NFL QB has yet to establish a passing game at our school. But our run game continues to be our bread & butter.

Its been a great day for the Big South in general. VMI broke their losing streak and if Chuck South can rally at El Cid, it will be a complete round of victories for the conference tonight.

and an extra 3 wouldn't matter at this point.
hey, at least the punting and kickoffs were good in addition to the rushing. Gonna be hard to gain 200 yds on the ground at UConn though.

Don't have much to say about this game. Very disappointed. The next 3 weeks will make or break us. Hopefully this a case of looking past someone and saving it for the weeks to come.

Steve, I think this was as much about getting the first game behind us with a team full of new faces. Obviously, the performance was disappointing. But as coaches always say, team's show the greatest improvement between weeks one & two. Let's hope so because we will be humiliated in Storrs next Saturday if we look anything like we did tonight.

Hopefully we will make out better than we did years ago when we played Bowling Green or Marshall many years ago. Scores of 60-3. Hope to God that that doesn't happen.

60-3 is the score of the Texas/Louisiana-Lafayette game right now...I'll give yall 1 guess as to who is winning that one...
Oh yes, this has also been one very disappointing win...I'm amazed I stayed after the halftime show...eesh, we need some improvement...this year will definitely be a rebuilding year.

The quarterback Farrel couldn't even handle the pressure that Concord was throwing at them basically for the entire game. Our offensive line stunk like crap and it was just plain pathetic to look at tonight. The O-line didn't do a good job protecting the quarterback all night. I was at the game. Well this was embarrasing to look at most of the night. They (Concord) were ready to play and we weren't. They did have some huge guys on their O-line. They were basically moving bodies of our defensive line for most of the game. Eventually their O-line wore down late in the game. Concord didn't have much depth in their O-line. Thankfully we won this game. We will get crushed next week at UCONN with this play tonight. Either way we are going to lose next week anyway.
