One of the last non-conference games of the year. Just a few nuggets about Marist they are 5-6 and (0-4) in MAAC play. The lost a close at Loyola, the team that our women play on Tuesday night.. . 78-75. So they will be looking to get back to 500... and not go 0-2 on the roadtrip. They have a pretty solid starting five who average right at 62 of the 73 points they score a ball game, conclusion they have no bench. If we bring the hustle that we have brought the last two ball games, we should win. I highly doubt that we will shoot below 16 percent in either half. All in all this is a game we need to win to get back on the winning track. How about a roll call of who all is coming.. Mad props go out to Bigsmooth for making the last two games since he lives in Raleigh.

All I can say that my Heels even gave the Pack an 11 spot and then we decided that we wanted to play. This team is very talented and very young. The best part about these freshmen is the fact that they are not the type of guys that are gonna head to the pros in a year or two. Roy has gotten him some solid 4 year guys and I will continue to trust in Roy. Go Heels.

Marist seeking revenge. They've got 2 7 footers. Hopefully they'll get in there and bang around with Russ. Slap him around a little bit. Get him mean. Jared Jordan is averaging 16.5 points and almost 7 assists per game. Now that is production. Should be fun to watch our guys try to gaurd him. They look like they're an off and on team. They've beat St. Johns and only lost by 6 to Ohio but lost fo Canisius? They've got a pretty good looking record overall and seem to have lost a few very close games. They should handle us but we're playing much better and it's at home. I guess we shall see...

What is Monroe doing? He played probably no more than 5 minutes in the game and has fouled out. Hubbard fouled out w/ 11 minutes to go, why was he still in there?

This was by far the worst officiated game i've ever seen....heck my sister dated one of the ref's for a few years but I still told him he wasnt quite as bad but they were aweful...not just against LU they were bad both ways....but bottom line you cant blame them for a loss when they get 2 Off Reb's with 3 min's left
LU showed a lot of heart to get back into that game...
Did anyone else catch LB's Mom yellin at the ref and LB sayin you gett um mom! LoL....that was my highlight

That last 3 minutes was quite possibly the worst basketball in the history of the world. Abraham probably had more court savvy that what I saw displayed out there. Before that the team had really pulled itself together and their coach made a HUGE mistake putting the 7 footer Smith in with 7 minutes to go and 4 fouls. I thought that would cost them the game. But 2 fouls and a technical later (how about a little self control in a close game Risher?), there we were down by 7. Here's what I was screaming at: Down 8 or so with 1:30 left. It's more than possible to come back from. We're content not to foul yet. I would have fouled but I guess Dunton didn't want to yet. So anyway, Jordan wastes the shotclock drives in AND WE FOUL HIM! Either foul him right away or not at all. You just wasted 30 seconds! A lot could have happened in 30 seconds.

I liked where Russel was going. It's hard for big guys not to foul and normally he doesn't because he's too passive. Tonight I thought he was playing a lot different. He wasn't letting fouls deter him from playing hard. Obviously he fouled too much but he can learn how to be more careful but not be passive. Really what killed him were the moving screens. There were at least 2 of them and that'll really help you along in the quest to foul out.
The officiating? It was bad but if anything I thought we may have been getting a little home cooking. They had a bunch of clean blocks that they kept calling. Sure it went both ways but I just seemed to notice more stuff against them.
