If we upset UComm AND win at least 7 other games we'd have a shot, Realistically, we'd need 8 wins to get an at-large.

Are you SERIOUS??? The Big Slouch is the WORST I-AA conference in the nation! We'd need at least ten wins to have a shot and a win over a I-A. Think I'm being harsh? Ask our friends at Gardner Webb...

If UConn is as good as they were last season, a victory over them would carry enough weight to make up for the dregs of the Big South. But point well taken.

A win over UCONN would certainly help for the post season, but Liberty or any team in the Big South is going to need a perfect season and play a tough schedule for any hope of playoff consideration. Such is life in the "No one wants to join us and how soon can we get out conference."

here's a thought, we need to actually start winning IN conf before THINKING about beating big name schools. Other than a fluke win like Eastern Mich way back when.

Bring back Morgan Hout! I agree PA we need a break out year in the BSC. Coach K has gotten his vote of confidence and now it's time to start winning the conference.

somebody alluded to the fact that the official schedule is out, but I couldn't find it posted anywhere. Even the Big South board. Anyone have info?

I think the schedule posted here had been pieced together by one of our posters. If the schedule release holds true to years past - they'll release it the Friday before kicking off on Saturday!

I think 9-2 would get us in the playoffs. Through out the UConn game and we would have to beat either YSU or William and Mary to have a chance. The Big Slouch conference wins mean very little and should be gimmees. Should win by 30 points or more.

30 points or more in the Big South? We're not even the best program (Gardner Webb) or the best team (Coastal). I think that may be asking a bit too much this year.

I agree aLUmnus. If you look at it GWU has had our number with the exception of last year. CCU got us down at their place in 2004. We have much to prove this year and I am frankly worried about the RB, OL, QB situation. The only solid area on O is the WR's.
The defense has to be better right?

I wanna see/hear how Greiser does in camp before we panic about the RB situation- the other concerns may be valid though. How is it that on one connected to the team is on this board? probably lurking but forbidden to post

Medic I agree greiser could be the X factor - I sure hope he is! That said, he's still a true frosh and I would feel much better if he was coming in where he didn't have to be the go to guy immediately.

W00T W00T-all our home games are at night this year...though what is up with the Thursday night game? In the Big South, its a forgone conclusion that we will be either 1,2, or 3. Only question is whether we can beat Coastal and Gardner-Webb and of course we'll have to see how they do against each other.

whats with moving all the games to a 7PM start?
Proto: is this a marketing thing? We talk of tradition (or at least trying to start some) but an important facet of college football for me was always game DAY, incl sleeping in Sat AM, a quick lunch and then off to the stadium, blue skys, the marching band and us getting pounded IN THE DAYLIGHT. then again, we didn't have lights yet in our brand new stadium.

They took a survey a few years back. Students don't go to the day games. It's saturday afternoon and they'd much rather be hiking or something. This way they can do both.

I agree wholeheartedly with the decision to play nigth games. The only time day games are actually a good idea is with November games when the cold really starts to become a significant factor. If its too cold, the students won't show up then either.

hmmmm, maybe we can squeeze Notre Dame in after all sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2035538INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division I Management Council has backed legislation that would allow Division I-A and I-AA schools to add a 12th football game starting with the 2006 season.

Hmm, a 12th game? Maybe there will be room to continue the Liberty-Hofstra rivalry after all

Dude, I love having Hofstra on the schedule. Those guys have a brutal time coming up with matchups because of their location. So our unusual relationship has worked out fairly nicely for both schools over the years. Hofstra has to schedule games down here in Texas regularly. And you know that's not be choice to travel that far.

`The night games this past season were awesome! Not only did 10x's the amount of students show up, but there would be a lot more townies to. There were a few games this year where I think we might have had 10,000+. It might be a long shot depending on how the team does, but I will venture to say now the Thursday night game will be the highest attended game this year along with Homecoming.

Not to mention more people from other schools come to the night games...I can't tell you how many green and gold people I saw the night we played William & Mary.
