Well...I've got some bits and pieces of the upcoming out-of-conference season. Highlighting this year are away games at North Carolina and NC State. No clue who is coming to the Vines...we won't be meeting Richmond again till 2007. VT/UVa "may or may not be" (according to the coach I talked to) on the schedule but they are trying to continue the home-and-home series with these two schools. The last bit I heard was the possibility of a tournament down in Texas with Texas A&M and a couple other schools.

Any word on us playing in the DC Baltmore area this upcoming season (MD, American, George Mason, Towson, etc.)

Didn't mention us playing anyone up there...but then again he didn't know the whole thing so you never know. I know American has been a consistent opponent of ours for the past few seasons, so its possible they're on there as well but I'm goin by history, not by what I know for sure.

UPDATE: talked to another coach today, and he definitely told me NOT Richmond but UNC and NC State, unsure of Virginia and VaTech, and we're in a tournament with Florida and we've also got Rhode Island on the schedule. He also said this might be the toughest all-around OOC we've had...the Frazee triplets (who I'm sitting right next to right now in the computer lab) will definitely be tested right from the very beginning.

ANOTHER UPDATE: VaTech is on the schedule for this season, Virginia is not. This means 3 ACC schools (VaTech, UNC, NC State-Tech and State are definitely beatable IMO) and probably one SEC school (Florida-it all depends on how the tourney is set up and plays out), and an A-10 (Rhode Island). Definitely a tough, quality OOC schedule for this upcoming season. GO FLAMES

And we won't be sneaking up on teams anywhere near as easily now. We've had some quality OOC wins the past few years. But we'll need some young players to step up bigtime to make '04-05-type noise this season.

I think these ladies will do well. I mean we had 0 juniors last year. These girls have been through a magical season that I am sure brought them closer together, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have another spectacular season

The non conference schedule is very tough this year. North Carolina is going to be loaded this year. I am sure they are beatable, but it will take a monumental effort to knock them off. The other ACC schools are not as good as UNC and Duke coming up this season. I believe this team (LU) will do well this year and they control their own destiny on what they want to accomplish this year. I am excited to see what this team will bring to the table this upcoming season. Everybody is going to have to step up and that includes the younger players too. It should be fun to watch. GO LADY FLAMES!!!

Hey I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the freshmen stepped up much like Courtney and Allyson did last year (although really ALL the freshmen on the team last year stepped up in unbelievable ways)

I agree with your points made. That freshmen class this past season really did some wonders on the hardwood last year especially in the NCAA tournament . I think this freshmen class coming in can step up to the plate this year. It should be fun to watch. Can't wait for the season to start. I am calling this years freshmen class "The triplets and friends." I think this team will be ready to roll when the season starts.

whatya mean "old cartoon"?
we all used to meet in the deli (do they call it that anymore? it was next to the main cafeteria) on Sat mornings to watch Superfriends and Looney Tunes on the big screen during breakfast- some of the happier moments I had at ol' LU.
and I still watch it on Boomarang Network.

You are not alone PAMed-but anyway, there is no more Deli-only the area known as Take-Out. And there's also no big screen TV there either (its at the LaHaye Student Center, with cable-ized TVs also located in the Clubhouse-we watch Full House, Family Matter, and Step-by-Step there).
But anyway, there is actually a newer version on CN called Justice League...its pretty awesome.

Yeah the schedule is going to be very competitive this year, N.C St is either Dec 3 or the 4th as well. The schedule that I got a month ago had UNC as the first game of the season on Monday the 21st. For those of you who like listening to Flames Sports Net Programing there is going to be some new shows on the Radio. I will give the details once we have them finialized but we will have some great things this year as we continue to do more things. Shouts go out to Scar we got to do Applebees again and then try to go ball it up 30mins afterwards like last time.
